HADLEV-A is a combination of two medicines- Levocetirizine and ambroxol which relieve cough. Levocetirizine is an antiallergic which treats runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing. Ambroxol is a mucolytic which loosens mucus (phlegm), making it easier to cough out.

Cetirizine is an active enantiomer of cetirizine that is a potent, nonsedative and selective H1 receptor antagonist. It antagonizes the allergic symptoms produced by histamines like runny nose, cold, cough etc. It inhibit eosinophil chemotaxis and also inflammation caused by it.
Ambroxol hydrochloride acts as an expectorant and mucolytic agent. It decreases mucus viscosity by altering its structure. It depolymerises mucopolysaccharides directly as well as by liberating lysosomal enzymes and by breaking network of fibres in tenacious sputum . It induces thin copious bronchial secretion and possesses antioxidant properties.
Absorption: Well absorbed after oral administration.
Distribution: Widely distributed in the body. It is 90% bound to the plasma proteins.
Metabolism: Metabolized in the liver to its metabolites.
Excretion: Excreted via urine and feces.

Children and elderly should not take it without doctor's recommendation.
Inform your doctor if you have or had any previous history of heart, kidney or liver.
You are recommended not to consume alcohol while taking as it may cause increased dizziness.
Keep your doctor informed if you are taking any other medicines along with to avoid unwanted drug-drug interactions.
If there is no symptomatic improvement in-spite of taking for a specified period inform your doctor.
It can cause mild drowsiness and sleepiness so be cautious while driving and engaging in activities which require mental and physical coordination.

Children in the age group of 6-11 yr with renal impairment.
